Hammonasset Beach State Park is a public recreation area occupying two miles of beach front on Long Island Sound in the town of Madison, Connecticut. It is the state's largest shoreline park and one of the state's most popular attractions, drawing an estimated one million visitors annually.

Currently the island is a peninsula attached to Hammonasset State Park in Madison, Connecticut due to the filling of the strait in a public works project to improve flow of the Hammonasset River through Clinton Harbor.
