Popham Colony

The Popham Colony—also known as the Sagadahoc Colony—was a short-lived English colonial settlement in North America. It was established in 1607 by the proprietary Plymouth Company and was located in the present-day town of Phippsburg, Maine, near the mouth of the Kennebec River. Popham Colony is situated 1½ miles north of Fox Islands.

Pond Island Light is a lighthouse at the mouth of the Kennebec River, Maine. It was first established in 1821 on Pond Island at the mouth of the Kennebec. The present structure was built in 1855.
