Portland is on a peninsula in Casco Bay on the Southern Maine coast approximately 100 miles north of Boston, Massachusetts. It has more than 65,000 inhabitants, making it the largest city in Maine.

Bangor is a small city of 32,000 people in the Highlands region of Maine. Bangor is the third-largest city in the state and the retail, cultural and service center for central, eastern and northern Maine.
