From the outlet of a small pond in Maine Township 16, Range 8, WELS, it runs about 6 miles east and about 3 miles south to its confluence with the South Branch in the town of Eagle Lake to form the Birch River.Places in the Area

Eagle Lake is a town in Aroostook County, Maine, United States. The population was 772 at the 2020 census. The town was named by a body of troops heading from Bangor to the Aroostook War for the many eagles that they saw around the lake. Eagle Lake is situated 4 miles east of North Branch Birch River.
