Sebascodegan Island
Sebascodegan Island, alternatively known as Great Island, is the largest island in Casco Bay and part of the town of Harpswell, Maine. With the island's name derived from an Abenaki word for "carry", in the 17th century Sebascodegan Island was crossed with trails used by the Androscoggin people for overland portage of canoes.| Tap on a place to explore it |

Harpswell is a town in Cumberland County, Maine, United States, on Casco Bay in the Gulf of Maine. The population was 5,031 at the 2020 census. Harpswell is composed of land contiguous with the rest of Cumberland County, called Harpswell Neck, as well as three large islands connected by bridges: Sebascodegan Island, Orr's Island, and Bailey Island. Harpswell is situated 4½ miles southwest of Sebascodegan Island.
