Waterford Township is a charter township in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. A northern suburb of Detroit, Waterford is located roughly 30 miles northwest of downtown Detroit. As of the 2020 census, the township had a population of 70,565. Waterford is situated 4 miles east of Pontiac Lake Recreation Area.
