Rochester is a city in Oakland County, Michigan. It is about 20 miles due north of Detroit. Settlers arrived in what is now Rochester in 1817, making it the oldest settlement in Oakland County.

Shelby Charter Township, officially the Charter Township of Shelby, is a charter township located in Macomb County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The township is an affluent northern suburb of Detroit. Shelby Charter Township is situated 4½ miles southeast of Winkler Pond.
