Southold is a station along the Main Line of the Long Island Rail Road. It is located on Youngs Avenue and Traveler Street, just north of NY 25 in Southold, New York, and is the last LIRR station located to the north of NY 25. Southold station is situated 1½ miles east of Kenneys Road Beach.

Custer Observatory is an astronomical observatory located in Southold, New York. It is owned and operated by the Custer Institute. Facing Peconic Bay and Shelter Island, Custer's location is host to some of the darkest skies on Long Island as a result of the comparatively lower levels of light pollution in the area. Custer Observatory is situated 1½ miles southeast of Kenneys Road Beach.
