Chardon is the county seat of Geauga County. It is in Ohio's "snowbelt" and receives an average of 106 inches of snow each winter. In 1996, the National Guard was sent in after the city got about four feet of snow in less than a week.

Aquilla is an unincorporated community and former village in Geauga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 305 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Cleveland metropolitan area. Residents of Aquilla voted to dissolve the village in 2024. Aquilla is situated 3½ miles east of Munson Township.
