Central Camp is an unincorporated community in Madera County, California. It is located 3 miles west of Shuteye Peak, at an elevation of 5,417 feet. From 1923 until the early 1930s, Central Camp served as the mountain base of the Sugar Pine Lumber Company, one of the largest lumber operations in California at the time. Central Camp is situated 3½ miles east of Chilkoot Creek.
