Georgetown is a census-designated place in El Dorado County, California, United States. It is the northeasternmost town in the California Mother Lode. The population was 2,255 in the 2020 census, up from 2,367 in 2010, and 962 in 2000. Georgetown is situated 2½ miles west of Gas Canyon.
