The Washington State Capitol in Olympia is the home of the government of the state of Washington. It contains the chambers of the Washington State Legislature, offices for the governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, and state treasurer. Washington State Capitol is situated 2½ miles southeast of Grass Lake.

Simmons Lake

Simmons Lake is a lake in the U.S. state of Washington. The lake has a surface area of 24.5 acres and reaches a depth of 12 feet. Simmons Lake was named after Michael T. Simmons, a pioneer citizen. A variant name was "Ken Lake".

The Temple of Justice is a government building in Olympia, Washington, where sessions of the Washington Supreme Court are convened. It also houses the state's official law library, and formerly housed the office of the attorney general of Washington. Temple of Justice is situated 2½ miles southeast of Grass Lake.

Tumwater is a city in Thurston County, Washington, United States. The population was 25,350 at the 2020 census. The city is situated near where the Deschutes River enters Budd Inlet, the southernmost point of Puget Sound; it also borders the state capital of Olympia to the north.
