USS Turner Joy

USS Turner Joy is one of 18 Forrest Sherman-class destroyers of the United States Navy. She was named for Admiral Charles Turner Joy USN. Commissioned in 1959, she spent her entire career in the Pacific.

Bremerton is a safe, environmentally clean community within an hour's ferry ride from downtown Seattle where you can visit the Navy destroyer Turner Joy, stroll along a delightful block-long waterfront promenade and check out the Kitsap Conference Center Plaza with its fascinating fountains.

Chico is located on the Kitsap Peninsula in the Puget Sound region of Washington state. Chico, named in 1889 to honor Indian Chief Chico, who lived in the area, is a small residential area along the west side of Dyes Inlet between Silverdale and Bremerton.
