Puʻukoholā Heiau National Historic Site is a United States National Historic Site located on the northwestern coast of the island of Hawaiʻi. The site preserves the National Historic Landmark ruins of the last major Ancient Hawaiian temple, and other historic sites.

The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel is a hotel property on the Kohala Coast of the island of Hawaii. It sits at Kaunaʻoa Bay. The American Institute of Architects gave the hotel an Honor Award in 1967 citing its "restrained detailing and fine spatial sequences." In 2007, the hotel received honors again from the AIA as it made the top 150 of its "America's Favorite Architecture" list. Mauna Kea Beach Hotel is situated 1½ miles southwest of Waikui.

Kawaihae is an unincorporated community on the west side of the island of Hawaiʻi in the U.S. state of Hawaiʻi, 35 miles north of Kailua-Kona. Its harbor is one of only three on the island, together with that of Hilo and Honokohau Harbor. Kawaihae is situated 1½ miles northwest of Waikui.

Puakō is a census-designated place in Hawaiʻi County, Hawaii, United States. The population was 772 at the 2010 census, up from 429 at the 2000 census. The epicenter of the 2006 Kiholo Bay earthquake was some 6 miles offshore of the village. Puako is situated 4 miles southwest of Waikui.

Waikoloa Village or Waikōloa Village is a census-designated place in Hawaiʻi County, Hawaii, United States. The population was 6,362 at the 2010 census, up from 4,806 at the 2000 census. The spelling Waikoloa is used by the local post office.
