Hāwī is a census-designated place in Hawaiʻi County, Hawaii. The population was 2,268 at the time of the 2020 United States census. Hāwī is situated to the west of the community of Kapaau. Hāwī is situated 4 miles northeast of Kou.

Māhukona is a former settlement on the island of Hawaiʻi. The extinct submerged volcano Māhukona, off shore and to the south, is named for this area. The settlement was once the terminus of the Hawaiian Railroad.
