The Hūnua Falls are on the Wairoa River in the Auckland Region of New Zealand, near Hūnua. The land around was bought by Auckland for water supplies between 1940 and 1960. Hūnua Falls is situated 3½ km northwest of Wairoa Dam.

Hūnua is a small settlement in the rural outskirts of south Auckland, New Zealand. Hūnua is 14 kilometres east of Papakura, 3.6 kilometres from Hūnua Falls and lies at the foot of the Hunua Ranges, from where Auckland obtains most of its water supply. Hūnua is situated 4 km northwest of Wairoa Dam.
