The Waiteti Viaduct, 3 km south of Te Kuiti and 2.5 km north of the station site, was opened in 1889. It is the most northerly of the major viaducts on the NIMT. Waiteti Viaduct is situated 3½ km southwest of Mangarapa Stream.
