Oruanui is a rural community in the Taupō District and Waikato region of New Zealand's North Island, located northwest of Wairakei on State Highway 1. The New Zealand Ministry for Culture and Heritage gives a translation of "place of many pits" for Ōruanui. Oruanui is situated 3 km west of Otawheta Stream.
