The Ōkahukura Peninsula, sometimes called the Tapora Peninsula, is the southern-most peninsula of the three eastern peninsulae. The Ōkahukura Peninsula was occupied by Mãori prior to European settlement, with Europeans using the peninsula to mill and dig for kauri gum.
