The Palace of Omurtag or Aul of Omurtag is an archaeological site in northeastern Bulgaria dating to Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages located near the village of Han Krum in Shumen Province.

Veliki Preslav is a small town in northeastern Bulgaria, not far from Shumen. It was the site of the second capital of medieval Bulgaria, and now the ruins are a national archeological reserve.

Han Krum is a village in the municipality of Preslav, Shumen Province, north-eastern Bulgaria. As of 2007 it has 408 inhabitants. Up to 1899 the village was called Chatalar and was then renamed to Tsar Krum and in 1977 to Khan Krum, after Krum who ruled Bulgaria between 803 and 814. Han Krum is situated 3½ km northeast of Milanovo.
