The district covers an area of 31.19 km2, and had a population of 80,847 at the 2010 Census and 88,576 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2024 was 94,178. Lubuk Pakam is situated 8 km northwest of Pagar Merbau Dua.
