Universytet is a station on the Kharkiv Metro's Saltivska Line. The station was opened on 10 August 1984 and is located beneath the Maidan Svobody, at the time, the largest square in Europe and the second largest in the world after Tiananmen Square, in the centre of Kharkiv.

Derzhprom is a station on the Kharkiv Metro's Oleksiivska Line. The station opened on 6 May 1995. It is named after Derzhprom, a constructivist building on Freedom Square. Derzhprom is situated 140 metres west of Freedom Square.

The Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Mykola Lysenko is a theater in Kharkiv, Ukraine. The postmodern theater building was built in 1991 and features tufa tiles. Kharkiv State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Mykola Lysenko is situated 600 metres south of Freedom Square.

The Derzhprom or Gosprom building is an office building located on Freedom Square in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Built in the Constructivist style, it was the first modern skyscraper building in the Soviet Union upon its completion in 1928.
