Freedom Square

Freedom Square is a plaza on the southern end of the Old Town in , , where state functions and various concerts take place. It is bounded on the east by , on the south by Kaarli Boulevard and an underground shopping center, and on the west by a commemorating the Estonian War of Independence 1918–1920.

Museum
is a medieval church building in , . It was dedicated to Saint Nicholas, the patron of the fishermen and sailors. Originally built as a Catholic church in the 13th century, it turned Lutheran during the Protestant Reformation in 1520s. is situated 250 metres north of Freedom Square.

It was opened on 23 June 2009 as a memorial for those who fell during the Estonian War of Independence, through which the people of Estonia will be able to commemorate all those who had fought for freedom and independence.

St. John's Church is a large Lutheran parish church in , . It is dedicated to Saint John the Evangelist, a disciple of Jesus Christ and author of the fourth Christian Gospel. Construction began in 1862, and the church was opened in 1867.
