Gianyar Regency is a regency of the province of Bali, Indonesia. It has an area of 368.0 km2 and had a population 523.973 at mid of 2022 census. It is managed by the Taman Safari Group which also manages Taman Safari Indonesia 1 in Cisarua, Bogor, West Java and Taman Safari Indonesia 2 in Prigen, East Java. Bali Safari and Marine Park is situated 4 km southeast of Gianyar Regency.

Samprangan, also spelt Samplangan, is a historical site on Bali, Indonesia. It is situated about one kilometer to the east of Gianyar town. According to Balinese historical tradition, it was the first residence of the dynasty of kings of Bali who descended from the Javanese Majapahit Empire, being established after the Javanese conquest of Bali in 1343.
