Built 1844–47, it is a distinctive example of Gothic Revival architecture, built using a regional construction style called "snecked ashlar" out of locally quarried stone flecked with mica. Glimmerstone is situated 1 mile east of Cavendish Fire Department - Proctorsville Station.
