on is the second of two forts built at the northernmost point of the United States part of the lake: a first, unnamed fort had been built on the same site in 1816 but had been disassembled after engineers realised they were technically building on Canadian territory.

Railway station
is an Amtrak intercity train station in , served by the single daily round trip of the Adirondack. The station building is a former Delaware and Hudson Railway constructed in 1889, with a one low-level side platform on the east side of the track.

Lighthouse
The in is the northernmost lighthouse on . Extinguished for seventy years, it was reactivated in 2002 to replace the skeleton tower erected next to it.
