South Dearborn High School is the sole high school in the South Dearborn Community School Corporation. It is located in Aurora, Indiana. South Dearborn High School is ranked 310-374th within Indiana.

The Hillforest Mansion, also known as the Thomas Gaff House, is located at 213 Fifth Street, in Aurora, Indiana. Built in 1855 on a bluff above the Ohio River, it is one of the finest surviving examples of an Italian Renaissance estate house, and a rare well-preserved example of the work of architect Isaiah Rogers.

Located on the north bank of Ohio River along Tanners Creek, it was one of the two coal-fired power stations within 3 miles of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, near the tripoint of Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. Tanner’s Creek Generating Station is situated 2½ miles northeast of City of Aurora.
