Fort Monroe is a former military installation in Hampton, Virginia, at Old Point Comfort, the southern tip of the Virginia Peninsula, United States. It is currently managed by partnership between the Fort Monroe Authority for the Commonwealth of Virginia, the National Park Service, and the city of Hampton as the Fort Monroe National Monument. Fort Monroe is situated 880 feet southwest of Fort Monroe.

Quarters 1, also known as Building 1, is a historic officer's quarters located at Fort Monroe, Hampton, Virginia. The original section was built in 1819, and consists of a three-story, central block, double pile residence with flanking, two-story wings in the Federal style. Quarters 1 is situated 600 feet south of Fort Monroe.
Old Point Light

Old Point Comfort Light is a lighthouse located on the grounds of Fort Monroe in the Virginia portion of the Chesapeake Bay. It is the second oldest light in the bay and the oldest still in use. Old Point Light is situated 1,500 feet south of Fort Monroe.

Phoebus is a formerly incorporated town now part of the present-day city of Hampton, Virginia, on the Virginia Peninsula. In 1900, it was named in honor of local businessman Harrison Phoebus, who is credited with convincing the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway to extend its tracks to the town from Newport News.

In the seventeenth century, Kecoughtan was the name of the settlement now known as Hampton, Virginia. In the early twentieth century, it was also the name of a town nearby in Elizabeth City County. Buckroe Beach is a neighborhood in the independent city of Hampton, Virginia. It lies just north of Fort Monroe on the Chesapeake Bay. One of the oldest recreational areas in the state, it was long located in the former Elizabeth City County near the downtown area of the lost town of Phoebus prior to their consolidation with Hampton in 1952. Buckroe Beach is situated 2½ miles north of Fort Monroe.
