It is the terminus of the Cornish Main Line and the southernmost railway station in Great Britain, situated at milepost 326.5 miles from London Paddington. Penzance Railway Station is situated 2½ miles west of St Michael’s Mount.

Marazion is small coastal village near Penzance in West Cornwall. The tidal island of St Michael's Mount is half-a-mile offshore. At low water a causeway links it to the town and at high water passenger boats carry visitors between Marazion and St Michael's Mount.
