Horston Castle

Horston Castle is about 1 mile to the south of the village of Horsley, some 5 miles north of the English city of Derby. The site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument but, as of 2018, is on Historic England's Heritage at Risk Register as poor condition.

Duffield Castle was a Norman Castle in Duffield, Derbyshire. The site is a scheduled monument. It was on a rocky promontory facing the river, easily defended, though it is debatable whether it was inhabited in prehistoric times. Duffield Castle is situated 2½ miles west of Horsley.
