Ixworth is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk, England, 6 miles north-east of Bury St Edmunds on the A143 road to Diss and 9 miles south-east of Thetford. The parish had a population of 2,365 at the 2011 Census.Places of Interest

Mickle Mere

Mickle Mere is a 17-hectare nature reserve south of Ixworth in Suffolk. It is managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust. This area of open water and wet meadows has diverse bird life such as lapwings, kestrels, little egrets and reed buntings, as well as mammals like water voles and otters.
