The Mermaid Monument is a zinc sculpture placed at the Old Town Market Place in Warsaw, Poland. The contemporary sculpture is a 2008 replica, with the original, designed by Konstanty Hegel and unveiled in 1855, currently being held in the nearby Museum of Warsaw.

St John's Archcathedral is a Catholic church within the Old Town precinct in Warsaw, Poland. The Brick Gothic structure stands on Świętojańska Street, adjacent to the Jesuit Church. St. John’s Archcathedral is situated 140 metres southeast of Old Town Market Square.

The Old Town and New Town are the two oldest parts of Warsaw. Administratively, they are neighbourhoods in the district of Śródmieście. The Old Town is comparatively small to the old towns of many other European cities, as during the time of its development Warsaw was a small town of mostly local importance and not yet the capital of Poland.
