Baluran National Park is located in Situbondo Regency, East Java, Indonesia. It has a relatively dry climate and mainly consists of savanna, as well as lowland forests, mangrove forests and hills, with Mount Baluran as its highest peak.

Baluran is a stratovolcano located on the island of Java. It is at the very northeast of the island and is overshadowed by its much larger neighbour Ijen. The mountain has not erupted in historical times, although it is considered to be of Holocene age. Baluran is situated 3½ km north of Curah Baluran.
