Cisterns of Tawila

The Cisterns of Tawila, or the Tawila Tanks, is a historic site in Aden, Yemen designed to collect and store the rain that flows down from the Shamsan massif through Wadi Tawila, and to protect the city from periodic flooding. Cisterns of Tawila is situated 3½ km east of Mal‘ab Nādī Shamsān.

Crater, also Kraytar, is a district of the Aden Governorate, Yemen. Its official name is Seera. It is situated in a crater of an ancient volcano which forms the Shamsan Mountains. As of 2003, the district had a population of 76,723 people. Crater is situated 4½ km east of Mal‘ab Nādī Shamsān.
