Maskeliya is a town in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It is the site of the 1974 crash of Martinair Flight 138, the worst air disaster in Sri Lanka.

In 2017, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a gathering of Indian-origin Tamils at Norwood, in the presence of the Sri Lankan president, prime minister, and other community leaders. Norwood is situated 3 km east of Yakahaluwela.
