Zile, known in ancient times as Zela, is a city in Tokat Province, Turkey. It is the seat of Zile District. Its population is 33,557. Zile lies to the south of Amasya and the west of Tokat in north-central Turkey. Zile is situated 9 km northeast of Büyükkarayün.
