The Citadel of Cairo or Citadel of Saladin is a medieval Islamic-era fortification in Cairo, Egypt. Its construction was begun by Salah ad-Din in 1176 and continued by subsequent Egyptian rulers. Saladin Citadel of Cairo is situated 2½ km northwest of Masjid al Ḩayy al Qayūm.

Built during the reign of the third Fatimid caliph, al-Hakim, in the Fatimid architectural style, the mosque was completed in c. 1016 CE.
