Previously Ugarachandi Nala was a village development committee located in Kavrepalanchok District of Nepal. It is named after the temple of goddess Ugrachandi Bhagawati located in Nala Bazaar.

Mahendra Jyoti is a village development committee in Kabhrepalanchok District in the Bagmati Zone of central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 3,343. Mahendra Jyoti is situated 3½ km southwest of Naya Basti.
