Boudhanath is 7 km east/northeast of central Kathmandu. It is home to one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world, built during the 5th century AD.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is a historically and culturally significant site in Kathmandu, Nepal. It is one of the three Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Narayanhiti Palace Museum

The Narayanhiti Palace Museum is a public museum in Kathmandu, Nepal located east of the Kaiser Mahal and next to Thamel. The museum was created in 2008 from the complex of the former Narayanhiti Palace following the 2006 revolution.

Patan, Lalitpur Metropolitan City, is one of the largest cities in Nepal and is located just across the Bagmati river from Kathmandu. Confusingly, it is also known as Lalitpur, both names deriving from the Sanskrit "Lalitapattan".

Kirtipur is a town in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal, 5 km southwest of Kathmandu on a rocky hill between 1,300-1,500 m in elevation. It is one of the oldest settlements in the valley, and was an ancient capital of Nepal.
Chobhar

Chobhar is an ancient hill village in Kathmandu Valley a few kilometres southwest of Kathmandu. It has its origins in the 12th century. It is noted for an extensive series of caves and a gorge on the Bagmati River found nearby.
