Kaksni is in the Nuwakot District. It is 20 km along the road from Kathmandu to Trisuli Baazar, the turn-off to the village is just before the police checkpoint where there is a cluster of shops.

Tarakeshwar is a municipality in Kathmandu District in Bagmati Province of Nepal that was established on 2 December 2014 by merging the former Village development committees Dharmasthali, Futung, Goldhunga, Jitpurphedi, Kavresthali, Manmaiju and Sangla. Tarakeshwar is situated 6 km southeast of Kosdanda.
