Bidur is the capital of Nuwakot District in Bagmati Province, Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 18694 and had 3736 houses in it. In February 2008, terrorists damaged the town's water supply plant. Bidur is situated 4½ km west of Dumrigaun.
