The municipality was established on 18 May 2014 by merging the existing Rampur Birta, Malhaniyakhori, Radhopur, Ramnagar , Phulbariya, Sitapur PraDa and Maheshpur Gamharia Village Development Committees. is situated 8 km west of Dohatiya.
