Hisham's Palace, also known as Khirbat al-Mafjar, is an important early Islamic archaeological site in the city of Jericho, in the West Bank. Built by the Umayyad dynasty in the first half of the 8th century, it is one of the so-called Umayyad desert castles. Hisham’s Palace is situated 590 metres northeast of Mabná al Mukhābarāt.

Mount of Temptation, in Palestinian Arabic Jebel Quruntul, is a mountain over the city of Jericho in the West Bank; ancient Christian tradition identifies it as the location of the temptation of Jesus described in the New Testament Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, in which it is said that, from "a high place", the Devil offered Jesus rule over all the kingdoms of the world. Mount of Temptation is situated 2½ km west of Mabná al Mukhābarāt.
