Jenin is a city in the West Bank, Palestine, and is the capital of the Jenin Governorate. It is a hub for the surrounding towns. Jenin came under Israeli occupation in 1967, and was put under the administration of the Palestinian National Authority as Area A of the West Bank, a Palestinian enclave, in 1995.

Umm al-Tut is a Palestinian village 6 km southeast of the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the town had a population of 1003 inhabitants in mid-year 2006 and 1,194 by 2017. Umm al-Tut is situated 4 km southeast of Masjid Ḩalīmah as Sa‘dīyah.
