Akrotiri

Akrotiri is a Cycladic Bronze Age settlement site on the volcanic Greek island of Santorini. The name comes from the nearby village of Akrotiri. The settlement was destroyed during the Theran eruption sometime in the 16th century BC, and was buried in volcanic ash, which helped preserve its fine frescoes.

Emporeio, also known as Nimborios, is a village on the island of Santorini, Greece. It is located 12 km from Fira, near the Profitis Ilias Mountains. According to the 2021 census, the community of Emporio has 3,704 permanent inhabitants. Emporeio is situated 2½ km east of Ágios Ioánnis.
