The designation East Aegean Islands covers the easternmost Greek Islands of the Aegean Sea. The Eastern Aegean islands group is, like the Dodecanese, much closer to Turkey than to the Greek mainland.

The North Aegean Islands are in Greece. These islands are places of mountain villages, fishing harbours, beaches, some ancient ruins, and some natural wonders.

The Saronic Gulf Islands lie in the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea southwest of Athens. They are a short ferry ride from Piraeus and are popular for day-trips; some, like Hydra, are also visited by cruise ships.
Sporades Islands
