Fort Hammenhiel is a fort built around a small island between the islands of Kayts and Karaitivu of Jaffna Peninsula in Northern Sri Lanka. Fort Hammenhiel கடல் கோட்டை is situated 4 km southwest of Karainagar East.

The Kayts Island Fort was built by the Portuguese in 1629 and was abandoned in 1651. In the late 1600s, Dutch controlled the fort when they took over the Kayts island. Kayts Island Fort is situated 4½ km southwest of Karainagar East.
