Basij Metro Station is an urban rail station of the Mashhad Metro, Line 1, opened on 10 October 2011 and located on Basij Square. The station is also planned to serve Line 3 of the Mashhad Metro and provide an interchange between the two lines once construction of the second line is completed. Basij is situated 350 metres south of Bīmārestān-e Mūsá Ebn-e Ja‘far.

The Imam Reza Shrine is the mausoleum of Ali al-Rida, the eighth Imam in Shia Islam, located in Mashhad, the province of Razavi Khorasan, Iran. As one of the holiest sites in Shia Islam, nearly 30 million Muslims making pilgrimages to the shrine every year, the most visited pilgrimage site in Islam. Imam Reza Shrine is situated 1½ km northeast of Bīmārestān-e Mūsá Ebn-e Ja‘far.
