Mount Gambier is the second largest city in South Australia with a population of 33,233, midway between Adelaide and Melbourne and 15 km west of the Victorian border.

Worrolong is a north-eastern suburb of Mount Gambier. Most of the suburb is in the District Council of Grant. A small portion of the southwest including the Mount Gambier Golf Course is in the City of Mount Gambier. Worrolong is situated 5 km north of Karingal.
