Aeclanum was an ancient town of Samnium, Southern Italy, about 25 km east-southeast of Beneventum, on the Via Appia. It lies in Passo di Mirabella, near the modern Mirabella Eclano. It is now an archaeological park.

Grottaminarda is part of Roman Catholic Diocese of Ariano Irpino-Lacedonia and its territory borders with the municipalities of Ariano Irpino, Bonito, Flumeri, Fontanarosa, Frigento, Gesualdo, Melito Irpino and Mirabella Eclano. Grottaminarda is situated 4½ km northeast of Alvaneta.
